Whilst sailing in my green canoe, to the land of Blueberry
I encountered a sand bar enclosed pocket
of marine life, still as a mirror.
Lying down, in the bottom, invisible, waiting,
the stillness of the day bred mosquitos, humming solitary,
finding me in my beached green bed.
Above the overcast sky simmered heat, reflecting below,
into the mirror water, drenching me with sweat.
Silence, momentary, and huge, yawned up the day,
as if it existed only in eternity.
