Sherbet of Marbles

Thursday, February 24, 2011

Pale lime flavoured stones, perfectly round, ground, and polished.
Mixed with Tonic water in marvelous combination-shaken with ice.
Lurking on the edges, swiftly rotating, bright orange goldfishes flash.
Moving in never-ceasing rolling, roiling, twitching, escaping;
the tub of lime-marble sherbet melts.

Into a puddle of flashing fishes and soup coddled broth.
Seaweed and bleu-cheese crackers, soggy with
splintered glass.
